On March 31, 1979, the Denturist Society of Saskatchewan was formed to regulate the Denturist's Act which had been passed in 1977. It appointed a board of examiners to examine candidated, issue licences, arrange for training courses and discipline denturists in Saskatchewan. Denturists across Canada consider Saskatchewan's legislation to be among the most progressive.
